Internship Opportunities
Welcome America, Inc. provides students a rare opportunity for real world experience in a high profile citywide event.
We seek self-starters who are creative, ambitious, hard-working, energetic, diverse and proud to produce Philadelphia’s July 4th celebration. Each internship position will have a defined role, goals to be achieved, and with supervisory support to enable each intern to leave with a sense of accomplishment, new skills, real-life experience, and the opportunity to be a part of a large-scale multi-day festival.
Internship opportunities include:
Marketing & PR
- Content management for website and social media, including sponsorship fulfillment and event promotion
- Content development, including copy writing and basic graphic design, for website, social media and e-mail marketing
- PR support, including press conference planning and executing, press coverage tracking, assisting with media credential application process, and coordinating media relations on-site
- Event promotion, including brochure coordination, community outreach and virtual or on-site promotion
- General festival support and other duties as assigned
Sponsorship & Partnerships
- Assist with drafting pitches for potentials sponsors of the festival
- Attend partnership meetings and walkthroughs
- Assist with sponsor fulfillment & recap presentations
- Collaborate with marketing department on sponsorship marketing deliverables
- Virtual or On-site sponsorship logistics support of festival events
- Track sponsorship fulfillment on marketing channels, including website, social media and e-mail marketing
- General festival support and other duties as assigned
- Interested candidates should have a focus in sales and partnerships or event logistics
Event Production
- Assist with drafting pitches for potentials sponsors of the festival

Admin Assistant
- Assist the executive team with scheduling, meeting planning, etc.
- Assist CEO with meeting preparation, presentations, etc.
- Provide on-site event support, including but not limited to ticket coordination and VIP guest and speaker relations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Highly organized
Requirements
- Available to work the length of the festival (June 19 through July 4)
- Availability to work nights and weekends
- A positive attitude and team mentality
Skills
- Must be detail oriented, creative and organized
- Project management skills
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Understanding of best practices for social media marketing for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Understanding of reporting and analytics
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Some jobs may require the ability to lift 50lbs
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite a plus
- Photography and/or video skills a plus
- Camera and/or video equipment a plus

Welcome America, Inc. is looking for Brand Ambassadors. We are looking for energetic, outgoing individuals to represent the festival, as well as, partners of the festival on-site at events.
Brand Ambassadors will be asked to represent the festival and/or partner in a positive and inclusive light while interacting with Philadelphians and visitors in a variety of settings.
Responsibilities may include guest relations, providing information about the festival and/or partner, distribution of marketing materials, distribution of giveaways, and collection of customer data, among other duties as assigned. Applicants should be willing and able to work outside in the elements (heat, rain, etc.), stand for long periods of time and lift 50lbs. Brand ambassadors are responsible for their own transportation to/from events. Events are primarily hosted in locations in Philadelphia near public transportation and/or have parking options.
Events requiring Brand Ambassadors happen throughout the year, with the most prominent times being for Wawa Welcome America festival (June 19 – July 4) and holiday events (mid-November through December).
