Join us in showing some LOVE to the Historic District of Philadelphia on a day where thousands of attendees come out to enjoy a block party that celebrates our country’s freedom!
At the 2018 Block Party we want to show LOVE to all the things that make the City of Brotherly love remarkable year-round. This includes diverse genres of music, the arts and entertainment, our rich history, our patriotism, different cultures and of course fantastic food! This year’s block party will feature two stages. The We the People Love Music Stage will showcase feel-good musical entertainment acts that range from Jazz to Pop music programed just for the Block Party’s young attendees!
The Kids Zone will feature activities focused on science, fitness, the arts, reading and history. Enhancing the experience for young attendees, several organizations will be onsite with fun interactive historic elements including; the ability to dress-up in revolutionary uniforms, instruction on how to march like a revolutionary soldier and a chance to handle revolutionary muskets.
The refurbished Bourse Building will have its grand reopening celebration to kick off the start of the Historic Philadelphia Block Party. Guests 21+ should stick around to enjoy The Beer Garden at The Bourse: Operated by BRÜ Craft & Wurst and surprise wow moments, while taking in all of the patriotic activities and entertainment that Historic Philadelphia has to offer.
Strolling throughout the crowd, adding to the excitement of this great community event, will be stilt walkers, variety performers and of course, historical characters! There is no need to leave the party to grab a bite to eat because along 5th and 6th street, there will be a plethora of food trucks offering something for everyone to LOVE. Event sponsors will also be dispersed throughout the footprint offering samples of food and drink. Come out on July 3rd to the 4th Annual Philadelphia’s Historic District Block Party to show the Historic District some Brotherly LOVE!
Opening summer 2018, the Historic District’s circa 1895 commodities exchange will transform into an artisan market in the style of New York’s Chelsea Market or DC’s Union Market. The burnished, Victorian-era member of National Register of Historic Places across the street from Independence Mall was most recently a food court and retail center. The Bourse’s new incarnation promises a new experience befitting Philadelphia’s current and centuries-old reputation as a gleaming city of makers, bringing together artisanal vendors that will excite locals and visitors alike. Located at 111 S. Independence Mall E. For more information please visit: http://theboursephilly.com/
