Enjoy five blocks of FREE entertainment, food and fun for all ages July 4 from 12 noon to 7 p.m. at the Party on the Parkway.

It’s a party, party, party on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Spend the afternoon noshing on goodies from local food trucks, enjoy a cold one at the beer gardens, and clap and cheer for FREE entertainment for all ages on three stages. (Pssst! Check out Chill Moody’s specially curated stage featuring local artists). Want more: There will be a zipline, an acro dunker show, arts and crafts with the Clay Mobile and much more at the Party on the Parkway!

 

Barefoot Wine is this year’s official wine sponsor of all the beer gardens on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Make sure to stop by and check out their new line of spritzers – the perfect thing to cool you down on a hot summer afternoon! Must be 21 years or older to enter all beer gardens on the Parkway.

Mutya Philippine Dancers

The Mutya Philippine Dance Company is a performing group and a youth program. It provides in depth education to Filipino American youth about their heritage and encourages appreciation by the American public for the Philippines’ rich and complex culture and history. Our mission is to preserve, develop, teach, and share our Filipino cultural heritage, arts, and folklore through our dances, music, and songs.

 

Lucille Ball Dancers

Founded in 1982, the Junior Guilders have won great acclaim throughout the United States. Their demanding repertoire includes folk, jazz, blues, and rock and roll and what they are best known for, Patriotic. The remarkable proficiency, which the company brings to performances has been demonstrated in hundreds of programs from local churches, schools, and service clubs to State Conventions. The Guilders and their volunteer staff are excited and thrilled to be part of Wawa’s Welcome America, in the city of Brotherly Love, and look forward to a memorable experience.

 

Jayne Dawkins (Stage Manager)

Jayne Dawkins is a marketing professional with 20 years of experience in the areas of strategic planning, marketing communications, advertising, public relations, campaign management and event production.  She works with independent business, corporate and institutional customer groups to develop, enhance and/or implement their marketing strategy. Over the past 9 years, Jayne has served in various roles in the Wawa Welcome America events.  As a native Philadelphian, Jayne enjoys participating in this annual celebration and looks forward to working with all of the talented individuals, both new and those who return every year, who make Wawa Welcome America a huge success.

Claymobile

Claymobile is the mobile community engagement branch of The Clay Studio located in Old City Philadelphia. You can find us at local schools, community centers, and festivals! We provide hands-on ceramics lessons for students of all ages. Our lessons are taught by a talented team of teaching artist who travel to your site in our Claymobile vans carrying all supplies needed for a ceramics lesson including clay, glazes, tools, etc. At festivals we typically teach our Claymation lesson, which includes the use of iPads to create stop-motion animation movies using Plasticine clay.
