The Barnes Foundation is home to one of the finest collections of impressionist, post-impressionist and early modernist paintings in the world—including works by Renoir, Cézanne, Matisse, Picasso—plus important African sculpture and Pennsylvania German furniture and decorative arts. Founder Dr. Albert C. Barnes, believed that art had the power to improve minds and transform lives. The Barnes’s diverse educational programs are based on his teachings and one-of-a-kind collections—both his art holdings and the rare trees, flowers, and other plants at the Barnes Arboretum.The legendary art collection is housed in a state-of-the-art building which also includes a special exhibitions gallery, a shop, a restaurant and breathtaking event spaces.

About program: PECO Free First Sunday Family Day: Summer Games. Celebrate summer with creative play at the Barnes!  Join us for artful games, crafts, and the precision and play of Almanac Dance Circus Theater. Fun for families of all ages! Families with children under 18 have priority access to the collection.Please note: due to the popularity of this day, you will encounter lines into the building or collection.
